Grüner Veltliner "Ried Satz" DAC 2003 was once again among Austria’s top 99 asparagus wines of the vintage!

Grüner Veltliner "Ried Satz" DAC 2002
was awarded 89 points from the Beverage Tasting Institute in Chicago and was also among Austria’s top 99 asparagus wines of the vintage.

Austria’s full-bodied white wines win the battle as best accompaniment to asparagus.

Baden – An expert jury unmasked the winners of the “Selection Asparagus Wine 2003” on
April 1st in the Grand Hotel Sauerhof.
Grüner Veltliner and the Burgundian varieties from Austria proved themselves once again to be ideal classic asparagus accompaniments.
Among the wide spectrum of varietals,
the jury found Sauvignon Blanc to be the
most convincing.
“The fuller-bodied white wines from Austria are particularly good wines to pair with asparagus. The exceptional 2002 vintage set the quality
standard for this year’s selection
extraordinarily high,” said the director of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board, pleased about the tasted results.
