The Bannert Winery is situated in one of Austria’s most beautiful wine regions.
The village of Obermarkersdorf is near the famous wine city Retz in the western part of the Weinviertl wine area in Lower Austria.
The Bannert family has owned and operated the winery for four generations and now cultivates 18 hectares of vineyards.
The diverse soils and the climate around the Manhart Mountain provide the ideal precondition for the cultivation of wines with varietal and regional character.
The traditional Austrian specialty, Grüner Veltliner makes up 1/3 of our vineyard area.
The white grape varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscat thrive in another third of the Bannert vineyards. The remaining vineyards are devoted to red wine varieties such as Zweigelt and Pinot Noir.
Environmentally conscious viticulture and innovative enology result in fruit-driven,
high-quality wines.
Numerous awards and accolades confirm the exceptional quality of the Bannert wines.
